How/when/where did you first meet?
It was Labor Day weekend of September 2011. At the infamous Whaler in Venice Beach, Leah met Andrew’s good friend Lance (Andrew was not there!), who told Leah “you should meet my good friend Andrew.” Lance simply said he thought they’d like each other, and while Leah thought it was a bit odd, she gave Lance her number as Lance wanted to set her and Andrew up. A few weeks later, Leah got a text from Lance asking her to meet him & Andrew out in Venice. Curiosity got the best of Leah, so she grabbed her girlfriends and off she went to meet her future husband!
How/when/where did the proposal happen?
When Andrew & Leah found out Les Miserable was stopping in Vegas for the first time, they were off to Sin City for double the fun!:) Leah loves theater and they both equally love Vegas, so they were excited for this trip. Andrew likes to “cruise the strip” during the day, while Leah enjoys playing her favorite game, Blackjack. On the day of Les Mis, Andrew kept insisting they get ready extra early for their 8 PM show so they could take pictures together by the Bellagio fountain beforehand. Leah thought that was a sweet idea, but after just exclaiming “this is the most fun I’ve ever had!”, she couldn’t figure out why Andrew was dragging her away from her poolside, sun-drenched Blackjack table at 3 PM (with a live 80’s band)! Little did she know, Andrew planned to get down on one knee before the show in front of the beautiful Vegas landmark.
Describe the ceremony, what made it unique/special?
Everyone we care about was there and a part of the best day of our lives.J Our vows were traditional but we also each handwrote pieces, which was special and heartfelt. Angelica Strings played the beautiful Canon in D as I walked down the aisle. We had a reading at our ceremony from my favorite musical, Les Miserables. Also, our friend (my bridesmaid’s husband) is a musician and played one of our favorite songs, Van Morrison’s “Crazy Love,” during the ceremony.
Why did you choose your wedding venue?
Pelican Hill is breathtaking – a beautiful resort with an understated elegance. I loved the lush landscape with the ocean in the background. I am from the East coast and miss the greenery from the garden state, and we are also beach people, so Pelican Hill was perfect.

What was the vision for your wedding, the style/color/scheme?
Romantic, Tuscany, whimsical, classic, enchanting, old-world, understated elegance, European, lush greenery. We had recently been to Europe together and loved Italy. Our invitations were old world and tea stained, and I carried the theme through to the flowers. We wanted the lush greenery to continue into the bouquets and flowers – the rotunda, chandeliers, olive branches with the menus and on the reception table with the olive oil favors. My dress was made from Italian silk in Italy. I chose bridesmaid dresses in suede rose color- a soft lavender/blush.
Describe the reception, what made it unique/special?
We had artichokes, grapes, pears and olives mixed in with the centerpieces at all of the tables to go with our Tuscany theme. We had tapenade at each table. Everyone we love was all in one place celebrating our marriage. Our band, Encore from West Coast Music, was absolutely awesome. You could tell everyone was having a blast!
Describe the flowers used for floral arrangements?
Greenery mixed with soft whites, blush and lavenders and a touch of plum- hydrangeas and peonies from Holland.
What was the inspiration of your wedding cake?
All white, classic design with flowers up and down the cake. Delicious Dulce de Leche – Caramelia Milk Chocolate Mousse, Chocolate Butter Cake, Crunchy Chocolate Pearls.
